Project Overview
The Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Peshawar, officially known as TransPeshawar, is a modern mass transit system that was inaugurated on August 13, 2020. This state-of-the-art project represents a significant step forward in urban mobility, stretching 27.6 kilometers from Chamkani in the east to Karkhano Market in the west, connecting major areas of the city while reducing traffic congestion and environmental impact.
The BRT system features 30 dedicated stations, a fleet of 244 hybrid electric buses, and serves over 329,000 passengers daily. With dedicated bus lanes (49% elevated, 38% at-grade, and 17% in underpasses), modern stations, and eco-friendly buses, the system ensures a comfortable, reliable, and sustainable travel experience for passengers across the metropolitan area.
